Homestyle Biscuits (something like bread)
Biscuits
This is one of a heart healthy recipe, and easy to make.
2 cup flour
2tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2/3 cup low fat buttermilk
31/3tbsp vegetable oil
combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a bowl. In another bowl mix buttermilk and oil. Add this to the flour mix and stir well. On a lightly floured surface, kneed the dough gently and roll it to a thickness of 3/4". Cut it using a biscuit cutter. If you dont have one, use a tumbler or something that you find in your kitchen which is wide enough. Transfer it to an baking plate. Preheat oven to 450F and bake it for 12 minutes or until its brown.
